About Ron

Ron Spindel entered the insurance business in 1975 with The Frieden Agency. In 2007, he formed Spindel Agency, LLC, which is a member of The Frieden Agency. With decades of experience, Ron brings a long‑standing commitment to helping individuals and businesses address their insurance and employee benefits needs as part of a broader financial strategy.

As owner of the Spindel Agency, Ron has made it his mission to provide quality insurance products to his clients in order to help them achieve their financial goals. His work is grounded in professionalism, experience, and a strong emphasis on long‑term client relationships.

While the Spindel Agency offers a wide variety of financial products and services, Ron’s main focus is on insurance and employee benefit products. He is dedicated to helping businesses:

  • Collaborate with other professionals to support comprehensive planning efforts

Ron is also affiliated with Commonwealth Benefits, owned by Chris Lyon and Jody Balaban, who along with The Frieden Agency provide all the services needed to accomplish these goals.

Professional Recognition

Ron has been recognized with lifetime Hall of Fame status by John Hancock (now a wholly owned subsidiary of Manulife Financial), reflecting his long‑term dedication to the profession. Ron is also a member of NAIFA, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and NAHU, the National Association of Health Underwriters.

Community Involvement

Ron is an active member of his community and currently serves on the board of the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater. He is a past board member of Beth Sholom Village and serves as an advisor to the Tidewater Jewish Foundation on charitable life insurance matters. He is also the past president of the Hampton Roads Youth Center.

Personal Life

Ron resides in Virginia Beach with his wife, Linda. They have one son, Kevin, who lives in Atlanta, and two wonderful grandchildren, Jordan and Jacob. Outside of the office, Ron enjoys being on the water whenever possible, often with a fishing rod in hand.
